From July 5 to 10, 2026, fifteen students from ORT Montreuil (an educational institution ranging from middle school to Master’s level) will participate in the first edition of Ocean Citizen Ambassadors in Nice. For one week, they will discover the Mediterranean underwater world, meet researchers, take part in concrete environmental protection actions, and explore several memorial sites. This initiative is led by the Ocean Citizen association, funded and supported by Groupe Premium, France’s leader in wealth management.

Paris, July 03

Learning to dive, observing plankton under a microscope, meeting researchers, cleaning the Mediterranean coastline, and discovering the history of the Wall of the Righteous and the legacy of Simone Veil: for five days, fifteen students from ORT Montreuil will experience an extraordinary educational journey in Nice.

Named Ocean Citizen Ambassadors, this program combines two major issues of our time rarely brought together in a single initiative: environmental protection and the transmission of memory. To act and not to forget. Its ambition is to provide young people with the keys to understanding the world around them and taking their full place within it.

Selected by their teaching teams for their motivation, potential, and willingness to invest in collective projects, the fifteen students come from diverse backgrounds. For some, this experience will represent a rare opportunity to access scientific, athletic, and cultural activities they might not otherwise have had the chance to discover. Furthermore, supervised by the Aigles Nautiques club, the students will prepare for the PADI Open Water certification, the first internationally recognized diving level.

Beyond diving or discovering the marine environment, the program aims to strengthen their self-confidence, autonomy, and sense of responsibility. Upon their return, they commit to dedicating at least twenty hours to educational and civic actions within their school to share the lessons learned from this experience with other students.

The young participants will take part in a coastal cleanup operation with Nice Plogging, a local association involved in preserving marine ecosystems. This action will be accompanied by awareness-raising operations intended for the general public to encourage more environmentally respectful behavior.

By moving from simple observation of human impact on the natural environment to a concrete preservation approach, they will experience active and engaged citizenship. This segment, open to the media, will be one of the highlights of the program.

The students will also visit the Marc Chagall National Museum, the Wall of the Righteous on Castle Hill, as well as several emblematic sites related to the memory of Simone Veil and her legacy. Through these discoveries, they will be invited to reflect on the notions of transmission, responsibility, tolerance, and commitment. By linking history and contemporary issues, the program offers a broader interpretation of citizenship, where understanding the past also enables action for the future.

Ocean Citizen Ambassadors benefits from the support of Groupe Premium as part of its corporate social responsibility strategy. Through this sponsorship, the group affirms its commitment to supporting initiatives with high educational, social, and environmental impact, promoting the empowerment and engagement of younger generations.

This initiative is based on a conviction shared by Ocean Citizen, Memories Fondation, and Groupe Premium: it is easier to protect what we know and to pass on what we have experienced ourselves.

“We want to offer these young people much more than an educational trip. We want to allow them to live an experience that leaves a lasting impression, strengthens their self-confidence, and shows them that they have a role to play in society. Protecting the ocean and preserving memory ultimately stem from the same responsibility: that of passing on what has been entrusted to us.”

“Because every generation has the power to bring its vision, energy, and answers to the great challenges of its time, training the citizens of tomorrow is a collective responsibility. By supporting Ocean Citizen Ambassadors, Groupe Premium chooses to accompany a youth that is curious, engaged, and aware of the challenges shaping our future.”

Memories Fondation is the endowment fund that finances the philanthropic and sponsorship actions led by Ocean Citizen. Its ambition is to allow people from all backgrounds to access programs dedicated to environmental protection, heritage enhancement, and the transmission of the memory of the Holocaust and genocides. Through its educational and civic projects, Memories Fondation works to train more aware, engaged, and responsible generations.

Ocean Citizen designs and implements immersive educational programs intended to raise awareness among young people about environmental issues, ocean preservation, and civic engagement. The association relies on field experience to promote learning, accountability, and transmission.
